The Select Board voted to write a letter to the Governor supporting rail-to-trail extension of the Bourne Rail Trail, which is great. However, in that letter, they make that project contingent on first getting a new modern rail built elsewhere. That could take years or decades. While we support such a rail being built, and think we should all be advocating for it – perhaps along the east side of MacArthur Blvd, the rail trail should not be dependent on that happening. We aren't yet sur when they'll be discussing this, but will post it here when we do know. In the meantime, please send them an email at selectboard@falmouthma.gov. They need to hear that Falmouth supports this project and doesn't want to wait for a new rail to be built! Please read this report FFBW generated last year for more background.
